Naperville cops investigate shots fired
Naperville police are investigating a Friday night shooting in which several shots from a small caliber weapon were fired at two people as they drove out of a northwest side apartment complex.
Police Cmdr. Dave Hoffman said no one was hurt in the incident that happened at just after 11 p.m. Friday on the 700 block of Inland Circle in the Country Lakes neighborhood. Hoffman would not specify the number of shots fired or the type of weapon used.
A 24-year-old male and 33-year-old female, both from Glendale Heights, were in the vehicle but were unharmed, police said. The vehicle then crashed into two parked cars in the apartment complex parking lot, police said.
At least one shot penetrated the trunk of the vehicle, and several other parked cars were also damaged.
Police are still searching for the shooter and continued to investigate late Saturday.
