DuPage County briefs
Input sought on video poker
Naperville is asking for public input regarding whether the city should allow video gambling within city limits. Input can be e-mailed to videogaming@naperville.il.us through Aug. 24. In July, the state legislature legalized video gambling as a method to help pay for Illinois' $31 billion capital improvement plan for road, school and infrastructure projects. County and local governments can pass laws banning the machines from their jurisdictions. The city council will consider the issue at its Sept. 1 meeting. Those wishing to comment also can call (630) 420-6043 or write to the City Manager's Office, Attn. Video Gaming, 400 S. Eagle St., Naperville, IL 60540.
