• Three white males in their late teens stole a pair of sunglasses out of an unlocked 2007 Dodge sedan in a driveway on the 400 block of Park Lane around 5:40 a.m. Aug. 8 but dropped the glasses and fled when the male victim confronted them. He caught one of the offenders but let him go before officers arrived.

• Vandals wrote graffiti at Anne Fox School, 1035 Parkview, Aug 12.

Hoffman Estates

•Burglars stole an iPod and wallet out of a 1999 Honda Civic on the 0-100 block of Westview Lane between 1:30 p.m. Aug. 12 and 2 a.m. Aug. 13. Total value was estimated at $360.

• Burglars broke into a 2008 Mitsubhishi Outlander on the 600 block of Milton Lane between 11 p.m. Aug. 12 and 5:30 a.m. Aug. 13 and stole a portable DVD player valued at $240.

• Burglars stole an iPod valued at $150 and a wallet out of an unlocked 2003 Infiniti in an open garage on the 6000 block of Canterbury Lane between 8 and 10 p.m. Aug. 12. Offenders used two credit cards in the wallet to charge merchandise valued at $1,690.

• Burglars stole a GPS valued at $150 out of an unlocked 2002 Hyundai Sonata on the 2000 block of Sutherland Place between 3:50 and 4 p.m. Aug. 13.

Schaumburg

• Thieves stole a GPS unit and three pairs of sunglasses out of an unlocked 2006 Kia on the 900 block of Banbury Court Aug. 8. Total value was estimated at $325.

• Burglars broke into a men's locker at Bally's health club, 1020 N. Meacham Road, about 2 p.m. Aug. 8 and stole $50 and a lock. They cut off the lock on another locker and stole a set of keys, but they were recovered. Burglars cut a lock on another locker between 8 and 10 p.m. Aug. 10 and stole a cell phone valued at $499.
