We need bags to take out trash

In the July 22 Daily Herald, I read with mixed feelings the "Our View" regarding plastic bags.

Yes, I agree, they are distributed and accepted so cavalierly - by stores and customers alike; and, all too often disposed of with little thought or regard for our world's future.

Through the years, however, since the bags have become the cheap and easy way of bringing home our purchases, many of us have used these bags to dispose of our everyday garbage.

Now that we should give up plastic bags, and we rarely see (or are offered) paper bags (because of deforesting the planet), what has been proposed for carrying out the garbage? Has anyone thought of this? I wait with baited breath for the solution.
