McHenry Co. man killed in crash

A Woodstock man is dead after a car accident early Sunday morning, officials said.

Carlos D. Ramon-Cabrera, 22, of Woodstock, was a passenger in a 2005 Acura TL when police say the driver of the vehicle ignored a stop sign, veered off the road and crashed into a group of trees in the 11000 block of Charles Road in Woodstock at about 4:30 a.m. Sunday.

Police said the car was upside down when arriving on the scene Sunday morning.

Ramon-Cabrera was pronounced dead at the scene by officials from the McHenry County Coroner's Office.

Coroner officials said an autopsy will be performed on Ramon-Cabrera at 11 a.m.

The driver, Enrique Hernandez, 21, of Woodstock, was also injured in the accident and taken via Flight for Life to Advocate Lutheran General Hospital in Park Ridge. He is listed in good condition.

Police said both men were wearing seat belts at the time of the crash.

Police are still investigating the accident.
