Hard to see dispute over health care

Being from a country where public health care was established after World War II, I find it very hard to understand why this option is such a point of dispute in this country. The German public health insurance is fully funded through a single-payer system, Patients can choose any doctor or hospital they want to go to, have minimal co-pays, no deductibles and never get denied their claims.

When somebody gets seriously ill, they do not worry about insurance bills. And if people choose to, they can get private health insurance. Affordable health insurance as a basic right for every citizen needs to be established in this country as well.
