Group seeking to save Milwaukee Mile

MILWAUKEE -- The Wisconsin State Fair Park board has introduced the potential promoter seeking to save the historic but financially troubled Milwaukee Mile racetrack.
Historic Mile LLC is led by Tony Machi, Jim Beaudoin and Steve Jones. Machi and Beaudoin have long-standing ties to racing, and Jones worked for the previous promoter.
The group has a two-month window to prove to the board it can fully fund the track's operations. The Indy Racing League and NASCAR were not fully paid by the former promoter, and the track has been left off the 2010 IndyCar schedule. NASCAR has not announced its schedule.
