Crystal Lake man facing prison time for 7th DUI

A 50-year-old Crystal Lake man could face between six and 30 years in prison after a McHenry County jury handed down what prosecutors say is his seventh drunken driving conviction. After a three-day trial that ended Thursday, the jury found Steven St. John, of the 1400 block of Woodscreek Circle, guilty of aggravated driving under the influence in connection with January 2006 incident in which police said he repeatedly drove his car into a parked vehicle while leaving a Crystal Lake tavern. He also was found guilty of driving while license revoked and will be sentenced Sept. 17. His defense disputes that it was St. John's seventh conviction.
