Human waste bigger threat than pet waste
I have to point out that I'm amused by and seriously question Mount Prospect's non-ecological, narrow-minded, Pollyanna position regarding the disposal of pet waste into storm sewers.
They say "Pet waste (can) impact a variety of plants, animals, ecosystems, and even people". How terrifying. They would rather have you pick up the waste, put it in a plastic bag, and throw it in the garbage. Think about it people. Fill the landfills with more indestructible plastic bags and separate relatively safe, naturally decomposing animal waste from the earth forever.
Now think about what DOES travel through our eco-friendly sewer systems. Human waste, consisting of prescription residue, blood containing some of the most lethal diseases on earth, environmentally damaging soaps, spoiled foods, paint, motor oil, anti-freeze, and any other man-made concoction of the basic elements outside of their natural state.
Now, what form of waste concerns you more?
