If it's good for us, it's good for Congress
Representative John Fleming of Louisiana, a physician, introduced a bill that encourages members of Congress who vote for government run health care to drop their wonderful comprehensive health insurance plans to join in the public option plan that they advocate for the American people.
The members of Congress and their staff members are enrolled in the Federal Employees Health Benefit Program. They do not have to participate in any government run health program, while every other American must have a plan that conforms to the government's rules if this bill passes.
If socialized health care is not good enough for the politicians, why would the American people want it? The politicians already have their own great retirement plan, exempt from Social Security. The seniors will be the first to have our health care rationed. We have to rise up and say no to any government run health care. But, in their desire to rush legislation, we do not have much time.
Obama, Reid, and Pelosi want to push government run health care on us by the end of July with bills in both the Senate and the House! What's the rush when they themselves do not have to participate? And will any member of Congress read the bill? Pelosi and Reid refuse to put the final health care bill on the Internet for five days so that the American citizens can read it before it is voted on. Isn't that what Obama promised us during the campaign? We should all call, e-mail, fax, and write as many members of Congress and say we do not want government run health care unless all members of Congress sign up for it.
