Villas of Cambridge offers luxury living at right price
The Arbor series townhouses - smaller and less expensive than the Artisan series - delights first-time buyers and downsizers at Villas of Cambridge where both offer luxurious living in a natural Streamwood setting.
The community by Cambridge Homes features three Arbor models for visitors to tour, each with two bedrooms, two to 2½ baths and two-car garage. All designs offer flexible space options such as extra baths and bedrooms, and two plans are available with dual master bedroom suites.
Located near the northwest corner of Routes 59 and 20 (Lake Street), the community features more than 18 acres of open space, including 7 acres of wooded forest preserve, park with playground and a central landscaped park with gazebo and pond.
A unique aspect of this community it that it's a private enclave tucked in a wooded setting, yet it has immediate access to both Route 59 and Lake Street, said Dave Smith, vice president of sales and marketing for Cambridge Homes. "You just get on either one right there. It's a great location with easy access to a lot of jobs and shopping."
One of the featured models is The Pine priced from $251,000 with 1,891 square feet, two bedrooms and two baths.
This end-unit raised ranch offers single level living with a finished lower level. An open floor plan shows casual furnishings with natural oak case pieces, wicker accents and a chocolate, green and cream color scheme.
A cathedral ceiling tops the great room, dining room and kitchen, giving the home a bright, airy feel. A chocolate sectional and two chairs offer plenty of seating while a fireplace is optional. The dining area includes a table set for four, credenza and wine rack. Candle displays in each area add a warm ambience. Sliding doors open to the rear wood deck.
The kitchen with pantry and breakfast bar features white appliances, 42-inch upper cabinets and granite countertops. The sink overlooks the dining area allowing the cook to chat with guests or family members.
A full hall bath features a cultured marble vanity top and tub/shower combination.
Green and white reign in the master bedroom that features a cathedral ceiling, light wood furnishings and a walk-in closet. The oversized bath features two sinks, walk-in shower with clear glass door, private tub area and linen closet.
The second bedroom with walk-in closet is outfitted as a den with chair rail, desk, bookcase and two chairs.
The large lower level is set up as a family room with entertainment center and game table. Cubbies hold games and books. Owners have the option of adding a bedroom and full bath in lieu of the family room.
This level also includes the laundry/utility room.
The Willow, priced from $227,000, features 1,777 square feet, two bedrooms plus loft and 2½ baths.
This tri-level model features a more sophisticated look with traditional furnishings, dark woods and cream with black and red accents. The main level features hardwood floors highlighted with area rugs.
The living room with bay window features a nubby cream sofa, two chairs and glass-topped coffee table. In the dining room, a round wood table is set for five while the chairs have leather seats and upholstered backs. Between the two rooms, a three-sided fireplace is optional.
A half wall separates the living and dining rooms from the kitchen and breakfast area.
The kitchen features stainless steel appliances, furniture quality cabinets and pantry. The breakfast area has a round table with tile inlay topped with cream and red place settings. Sliding doors lead to the oversize wood deck. A powder room features a pedestal sink and burgundy and gold wallpaper.
Upstairs, the master bedroom with volume ceiling and walk-in closet features taupe and red colors. The private bath has two sinks, cultured marble vanity top, walk-in shower with clear glass door and tub with a cream and brown patterned wallpaper.
A second bedroom suite with volume ceiling and walk-in closet features coffee colored spread and draperies with paisley and plaid accent pillows and private bath with sink and tub.
This level also features a loft and convenient laundry. A third bedroom in lieu of the loft is an option.
The finished lower level offers a large open family room with dark wood furnishings, plasma TV and whimsical artwork. An office area includes a desk, cabinets and shelving. Again, this space can be customized by adding a bedroom and full bath in lieu of the family room.
The Sycamore is a three-level townhouse priced from $243,000 with 2,047 square feet, two bedrooms plus loft and 2½ baths. The layout is similar to The Willow.
