Vouchers better than health-care plan
I agree 100 percent with U.S. Rep. Peter Roskam's opposition to Mr. Obama's public health care plan. Supporters of Mr. Obama's health care plan constantly use "affordability" to back up their view. The word they should be considering is "usability".
Speak to someone who is visiting from England or has recently emigrated about socialized health care. Ask them how long it takes to see a doctor, or worse, a specialist. Ask them how affordable it is when they are being taxed through the roof to support it.
Wake up people, nothing is free. The government doesn't sweep down like mommy and make it all better. Need more proof? Check out public housing, food stamps or social security. Do you want the same people who messed those up managing your health care? I sure don't.
A more viable alternative would be for the government to issue vouchers for health care premiums to those who can't afford them.
