McHenry boy struck injured by pickup truck
A 15-year-old McHenry boy running to McDonalds was hit by a pickup truck and taken to a local hospital, authorities said.
The boy, whose name is being withheld, was crossing Charles J. Miller Road at about 2 p.m. Tuesday when he was hit, authorities said. The teen did not cross the street at an intersection or a cross walk.
The driver of the truck, who was making a right turn onto Charles J. Miller Road from Route 31, did not see the teen and could not stop in time.
The boy was taken to Centegra Hospital-McHenry where he is expected to make a full recovery, authorities said.
The driver was not cited for the accident, officials said.
Charles J. Miller Road was closed for about 20 minutes between Green Street and Route 31 while the accident was tended to by rescue crews.
