Teens still hospitalized

Two 2008 graduates and former football players at Addison Trail High School remained hospitalized Monday following a July 8 car crash in Villa Park that killed a 63-year-old Carol Stream woman. Rocco Motto, 19, has been upgraded to fair condition at Advocate Good Samaritan Hospital in Downers Grove. His passenger, Michael DeStefano, 19, remains in critical condition at Loyola University Medical Center in Maywood. Police are still looking for witnesses to the accident that occurred in the southbound lanes of Route 83 between Washington Street and Riverside Drive. Investigators expect to return to the crash site on Wednesday, July 15, with a sign board in an attempt to find motorists who regularly drive by around 3:30 p.m. and who may have witnessed the crash. Anyone with information about the accident is asked to call (630) 834-7447.

Tennis courts work planned

Naperville Park District's tennis courts at Knoch Park will close for construction beginning July 20. When the facility reopens this fall, there will be four new courts in addition to the existing eight courts. The existing courts will be resurfaced and there will be new lighting. Other public courts available while the construction is going on include: Ranchview Park, 1727 Ranchview Drive; Ashbury Park, 1740 Conan Doyle Road; DuPage River Sports Complex, 2807 S. Washington St.; Naperville North High School, 899 N. Mill St.; and Neuqua Valley High School, 2360 95th St. For project information and updates, visit napervilleparks.org.

Survey results available

Naperville Park District recently concluded a four-mouth process to conduct its 2009 Community Interest & Opinion Survey initiative. Those survey results, the data analysis and respondent comments are available for view at the park district's Web site at napervilleparks.org. For the survey, 500 residents from across the community were contacted by telephone about their experiences and perceptions of the park district. The survey results will be used to develop and set priorities for organizational strategic initiatives in conjunction with the strategic plan to be completed this fall.
