Followup letter from restaurant owner
I am writing concerning the letter I wrote (Neighbor Fencepost July 6) letting the public know the problems I have had since moving my restaurant to Des Plaines from Mount Prospect.
I have received many letters from customers showing their concern on what is going on here. All of the letters where very nice telling me they were sorry and saddened as I was by the actions that have happened over the last two years. Since I wrote the letter all of my flowers on the front of my restaurant have been stolen - 10 total.
I received one letter from someone who seems to think I should shut up and take this abuse. Well, to that person I say what if it was your home or business having these problems, how would you react? This person went on to tell me maybe the drunk man found sleeping in my lot wasn't from Des Plaines - well, he was. The cops checked his ID, and soon after he was caught robbing a house near by.
I never said in my letter that the problems were due to the people of Des Plaines, I was upset at the fact I moved here and have problems now. If this person who wrote me this letter thinks that way, we are in a sad state today to think they would tell me to shut up and go back to Mount Prospect if I don't like it here in Des Plaines.
When they destroy your house or business, what will you do - shut up and take it? I don't think so!
