Being a Boy Scout is the best thing ever

I just want to write a letter to you to tell you about how great it is to be a Boy Scout. I belong to Troop 196 in Schaumburg, Illinois and this troop has got to be the best troop there is. Our troop leader is Mr. Fleck and he has taught and shown myself and my fellow Scouts so much.

We just got back from Camp Napowan and I can't begin to tell you how much fun it was. I earned three merit badges and hopefully will also get a fourth one. We go on campouts that include fishing, campfires, hiking. We also take trips to places that teach history. We went to Springfield not too long ago and I learned a lot about our 16th president, Abraham Lincoln.

Another favorite trip was to an overnight stay on a submarine, How many kids can say they slept on a submarine? Even my parents have gone on a couple of trips and they can't believe how fun it is.

In closing I would just say that if any kids out there have the chance to be a Boy Scout, do it. You won't be disappointed. I also would like to thank Mr. Fleck and all the other leaders who make this all possible. Without them, we couldn't do it.

Thank you for listening.
