What's the matter with Hollywood?

When the new movie listings come out on Friday, I quickly turn to them to find out if there is anything I want to see. Sadly, there are few. Most are rated R or, even if PG-13, are full of violence, profanity and gratuitous sex.

It's interesting that, according to movieguide online, "moviegoers overseas favor clean movies with strong Christian, moral, and redemptive content." This was the outcome of a three-year study on the subject.

Moviegoers in the U.S. feel the same way as is evidenced by the superior revenues of movies that fall into the above categories as quoted in movieguide. So, why does Hollywood continue to put out the movies they do? Going to the show used to be safe and fun for the whole family. Not any more.
