Boy struck by van in Addison

A 6-year-old boy was taken to Elmhurst Memorial Hospital Thursday afternoon after being struck by a vehicle on LaLonde Avenue in Addison, police said. The boy's injuries are not life-threatening, according to Sgt. Russ Schecht. He said witnesses indicate the boy ran out from between parked cars and police do not believe the driver was speeding. No charges are expected at this time.
