Schaumburg man hurt, charged in Wisconsin crash

A 39-year-old Schaumburg man was injured in a car crash in Rock County, Wis., Thursday morning.

Scott Kurcz was in fair condition Thursday night at the University of Wisconsin Hospital in Madison after his car's collision with a semitrailer truck at 8:50 a.m.

An investigation determined that Kurcz had been driving his car east on Highway 59 when he turned left and struck the rear tandem of the westbound semi, Capt. Gary Groelle of the Rock County sheriff's office said.

Kurcz's vehicle became trapped under the semi, which came to rest in a ditch.

Kurcz was charged with operating while intoxicated, Sgt. Ken Marquardt of the Rock County sheriff's department, said.
