Hanover Park changes curfew:

Hanover Park will enforce a new curfew beginning at 11 p.m. Friday, July 17. Curfew hours will be from 10 p.m. Sunday through Thursday until 6 a.m. the following day. On Friday and Saturday, curfew will start at 11 p.m. and end at 6 a.m. the following day. It applies to minors, defined as any unemancipated person under age 17. Police say they are vigorously enforcing the curfew ordinance in an effort to reduce crime.

Heinze to head fire district:

Barrington Countryside Fire Protection District trustees have elected 16-year board veteran and professional business consultant Paul M. Heinze as 2009-10 board president. He succeeds Dr. Thomas C. Long, who was elected vice president. Veterinarian Walter W. Dalitsch was re-elected as secretary and former printing company owner Marvin Hill as treasurer. Also on the five-person board is advertising professional Thomas P. Rowan, who manages the district's Web site and public information efforts.
