Rabies clinic today at Elk Grove market
A Cook County animal and rabies control vaccine and microchip clinic will be held 10 a.m.-2:45 p.m. today, Wednesday at the Elk Grove village farmers market, in the Pavilion parking lot.
The rabies vaccine for one year is $7; the 3-year vaccine is $21. Microchipping is $10 $9 for ferrets). Clinic is available to all dogs, cats and ferrets 3 months and older. Animals must be owned by Cook County residents and have valid identification. Cash or check only.

BG police to reward good bike riders
The Buffalo Grove Police Department is rewarding good bicycle riders this summer with the help of the Buffalo Grove Pantry, local 7-11 stores and the Buffalo Grove Rotary Club.
Officers who see young people demonstrating safe bicycle riding will present the rider with a coupon good for a free fountain drink. If they are wearing a bicycle helmet, their names will be entered into a drawing for a new bicycle, donated by the Rotary Club.
Participating stores are the 7-11 stores at 1165 Weiland Road in Buffalo Grove, 4244 Arlington Heights Road in Arlington Heights and the Buffalo Grove Pantry at 223 W. Dundee Road in Buffalo Grove.
