Man faces child porn charges

An 18-year-old Downers Grove man is facing possession of child pornography charges following an undercover Internet sting operation conducted by Wheaton police detectives. Bojan Hrgota was arrested and charged on Friday, authorities announced Tuesday. He was released from the DuPage County jail after posting $5,000 bond. No further details were released.

Libraries closed July 17

Naperville's Nichols, 95th Street and Naper Boulevard libraries will be closed July 17 for in-service training. Normal hours of 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. will resume July 18. Drive-up returns for all library materials are available 24 hours a day at the Nichols Library, 200 W. Jefferson Ave.; the Naper Boulevard Library, 2035 S. Naper Blvd.; and the 95th Street Library, 3015 Cedar Glade Drive. Materials may be renewed at its Web site, www.naperville-lib.org.

Fergie Jenkins comes to Anderson's

Aurora honors Nila family

Aurora will honor the Nila family for its contributions to the city with an honorary street dedication at 11 a.m. Friday at Farnsworth and Indian avenues. Sponsored by the Aurora Hispanic Heritage Advisory Board and Aurora Township, the ceremony will include remarks from several area officials and descendants of Augustine and Senobio Nila, who settled in a boxcar community created for Mexican immigrants in Eola before moving their families to Indian Avenue. Augustine and Senobio Nila were among the earliest Mexican immigrants to come to Aurora.
