We already have plenty of gun laws

Note to James Webster regarding your call for "meaningful guns laws."

In case you have not read the state laws, we already have meaningful gun laws. It is illegal for a felon to purchase or posses a gun. It is illegal for anyone to wrongfully discharge or use a gun in a crime. Robbery, assault or murder with a gun or any other weapon are also illegal.

All of these crimes have severe punishments, yet they are still committed. No additional gun law will change this, and any politician that promises it will is either a charlatan or a fool, unworthy of my vote. What we need is meaningful gun law enforcement, not more meaningless laws.
