Learn about wildlife at Camp Tracks

This summer, Fox Valley Wildlife Center is offering "Camp Tracks," an opportunity for kids to learn about wildlife.

There are two courses remaining: Course 2 for third- to fifth-graders on July 6-10; and Course 3 for sixth- to eighth-graders on Aug. 3-7.

The courses are held from 9 a.m. to noon each day for a week at the center, located in the Elburn Woods Forest Preserve on Route 38, one mile west of Route 47 in Maple Park.

Each weeklong course is broken up into five lessons, one lesson per day: Lesson 1 - Mammals; Lesson 2 - Songbirds; Lesson 3 - Birds of Prey; Lesson 4 - Waterfowl; and Lesson 5 - Amphibians/Reptiles.

Each course (5 lessons) is $45 or $10 per lesson. There is a minimum of five attendees per lesson and a maximum of 20. Register by Friday, July 3, for Course 2 and Friday, July 31, for Course 3. For information and to register, call the Wildlife Center at (630) 365-3800.

The Fox Valley Wildlife Center, a nonprofit, volunteer organization, is Kane County's only licensed wildlife rehabilitation facility.
