Link is right about traffic cameras
I find the article on May 20 about cameras to watch and catch speeders very upsetting! I do not very often agree with Senator Link, but this time I do, and I find the comments made by senators Hendon, Jacobs and Duffy stupid, and indicators of their driving habits most likely!
Being a driver that respects the law, and has had many people blow their horns at me, give me the finger or try to cut me off when I am stopping before I turn on red or slowing down in a school zone, I think Senator Link's proposal is badly needed!
The police are not out ever, running radar anywhere, let alone in school zones, or watching at intersections, so how else will this state and our children be kept safe?
There are two schools on Grass Lake Road in Lake County, and very, very few people adhere to the posted 20 mph speeds for those schools, and children even walk down the side of Grass Lake Road to go to and from school!
I had a gravel truck pass me, blowing his air horns the whole time, in the school zone while the children were out on the playground next to the road, and there is even a double yellow line on the road too! Too bad there was not already a camera in place that day!
People today will not follow the law because there is no one enforcing them, so Senator Link's idea of instilling fear in people, with these cameras, is a very good idea, and no it is not just to make money or "pick pockets," senators Duffy, Jacobs and Hendon!
