St. Charles

• Benjamin John Stacey, 31, of the 400 block of South 10th Street, was charged June 13 with obstructing a peace officer and disorderly conduct, according to a police report. Police observed Stacey having a loud verbal confrontation with patrons in the beer garden at The Filling Station, 300 W. Main St. Officers attempted to get Stacey to leave the location but he refused. When officers requested his identification to issue him a citation, Stacey refused. Officers took him to the ground and placed him in handcuffs.

• Sarah Jane McKenna, 25, and Kassie Elise Reach, 21, who live in separate residences in the 700 block of Queensgate Circle in Sugar Grove, were charged June 11 with retail theft, according to a police report. Store security at Meijer, 855 S. Randall Road, observed the pair placing DVD movies into their purses and entering a women's restroom. Security discovered wrapping and security tags for the movies in the handicapped stall of the restroom when the women exited it after about 30 minutes. The pair then exited the store through the garden center without paying for the items. Security found 18 Blue Ray DVD movies in McKenna's purse with a total value of about $537. Security also found eight Blue Ray DVD movies in Reach's purse with a total value of about $192.

• Adan Cruz-Perez, 23, of the 200 block of North 15th Street, was charged June 5 with forgery, unlawful possession of a fraudulent ID card, unlawful use of an ID card, no valid driver's license and disobeying a traffic control device, according to a police report. Police stopped Cruz-Perez after observing him make a turn at an intersection without stopping for a red light. Police then discovered Cruz-Perez was in possession of a fake Social Security card.

Kane County

• A residence on the 37W300 block of Heritage Drive, Batavia Township, was reported ransacked Sunday, police said. Residents came home to find a back door forced open, holes in the walls and damage to property in nearly every room of the house. Police are investigating.

• A red GT Compe bicycle valued at $400 was reported stolen June 15 from a residence on the 9N700 block of Bowes Road, Plato Township, according to police.

• More than 100 nails were discovered in a horse-riding arena Saturday on the 10N200 block of Nesler Road, Elgin Township.

• A window valued at $300 was reported smashed Friday at a business on the 2S100 block of Harter Road, Kaneville Township, according to police.

• A 14-inch, orange and white Stihl chain saw valued at $300 was reported stolen Saturday from a vehicle on the 43W900 block of Oakleaf Drive, Blackberry Township, according to a police report.

• A radar detector and radio valued at $270 total were reported stolen Saturday from a vehicle on the 0-99 block of Briargate Circle, Sugar Grove Township. Vehicle door locks valued at $400 also were damaged, according to police.
