Meet Mt. Prospect's earliest residents

The Mount Prospect Historical Society will present the "Grave Conversations" Cemetery Walk from 5-8 p.m., Friday, June 26, and from 10 a.m.-2 p.m., Saturday, June 27, in Mount Prospect's oldest cemetery.

As visitors walk through the cemetery at St. John Lutheran Church, a block south of Golf Road on Linneman Road, they'll meet local residents who portray men and women from Mount Prospect history who helped shape the community.

Actors will talk about the people they are portraying and converse with visitors in character.

Highlights include William Wille, a master carpenter who built many of Mount Prospect's early buildings; Johanna Busse, an early settler and matriarch of the Busse family; Christian Linneman, an early settler and cabinetmaker; and Paul Meeske, a teacher and organist at St. John's Lutheran Church.

The event is sponsored by Friedrichs Funeral Home. Admission is $10 and tickets will be sold at the gate only. Proceeds benefit the society's educational and preservation efforts.
