It's time for charities to be frugal, too

In today's economic climate it is necessary to be prudent in our charitable contributing. However, it would also be prudent for charities themselves to combine and eliminate unnecessary duplication of fundraising and administration.

In going over the BBB listings a quick survey showed 68 charities with the word cancer in their name (not including those for specific cancers).

Would it not be more efficient if they combined and instead of spending our contributions on hundreds of large salaries and multiple mailings the money went directly to cancer research and education?
