Polish preschool in the works for Wheeling

Margaret Wajs wants to open a new Polish preschool at 710 S. Milwaukee Ave. in Wheeling. Wajs took her idea before the plan commission on May 28 and received unanimous approval.

The school would accommodate up to 40 kids, ages 3 to 6, she said.

"There would be no more than 20 kids in one group and each group will have two or three teachers," she said. "All of the teachers would be certified."

The project still needs final approval from the Wheeling village board, which could come in June.
