Crespo hosts public forum:

State Rep. Fred Crespo will host a town-hall meeting at 6:30 p.m., Tuesday, June 23, at Hoffman Estates Village Hall, 1900 Hassell Road. The public meeting will address the latest legislative session in Springfield and include a question-and-answer session. RSVP by calling Crespo's office at (630) 372-3340.

Baseball clinic at Alexian Field:

A Major League Baseball Players Alumni Association Legends for Youth clinic will be held from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday, June 27, at Alexian Field in Schaumburg, the home of the Schaumburg Flyers. The clinic, hosted by Total Insurance Services and The Hanover Insurance Group, will feature Bill Madlock, Minnie Minoso, Milt Pappas, Jim Piersall, Lee Smith and other former Major League Baseball players as instructors. For $49, participants will receive a day of instruction from the former pros, lunch and a ticket to that evening's Flyers game against the Kansas City T-bones. Band concert canceled:

The concert by the Arlington Heights Community Concert Band set for June 17 in North School Park has been canceled. There was a communication glitch with the park district about the date, and the band actually performed June 10. For information on summer concerts, visit ahpd.org.
