Two boys accused of iPod muggings in Schaumburg
A Schaumburg boy and Hanover Park boy are being prosecuted in juvenile court after they mugged other minors and took their iPods, Schaumburg police said.
In one of the incidents, the boys displayed a BB gun as if it were a real gun, Schaumburg police Sgt. John Nebl said.
This robbing occurred on the street in the area of Knollwood Drive and Bode Road at around 7:45 p.m. Sunday, Nebl said. The second incident, in which no weapon was displayed, occurred about 20 minutes later near the intersection of Walnut Lane and Bode.
Neither of the two boys lives near where the incidents took place, Nebl said. They were taken into custody shortly after the second incident.
Police didn't give exact ages of the perpetrators. The victims were about 13 years old.
