Police holding suspect in Roselle stabbing
A 27-year-old Hanover Park man was stabbed late Wednesday following an altercation outside a restaurant near the intersection of Irving Park Road and Prospect Street in Roselle, authorities said Thursday.
Three other men also were injured in the incident, but police would not discuss their injuries or involvement.
A suspect is in custody, Roselle police said, but no charges have been filed.
Police and paramedics responded to calls about the fight just before 11:30 p.m. and found four men injured, officials said. Watch Cmdr. Christopher Howell of the Roselle Fire Department said one victim was transported to Advocate Good Samaritan Hospital in Downers Grove, while a second was taken to Alexian Brothers Medical Center in Elk Grove Village.
The two other injured men signed medical releases and refused treatment, Howell said.
Roselle police had a suspect in custody Thursday and were questioning witnesses, Deputy Chief Roman Tarchala said. No charges had been filed, he said, and officials would not release the names of the victims or suspect.
Tarchala said the stabbing victim's injuries were listed as non life-threatening on Thursday.
Roselle police and rescue workers received ambulance assistance from the Hanover Park and Itasca fire departments and the Bloomingdale Fire Protection District.
