American Legion raises money for baseball
Mount Prospect American Legion Post 525 will host a fundraiser for its Legion baseball team from 5-8 p.m. Saturday, June 13, at Bogie's Restaurant, 303 Kensington Road. The cost is $20 per adult/ $15 for person under 21. Pay at the door. Price includes all-you-can-eat pizza and soft drinks. Prizes have been donated by Mount Prospect businesses for the raffle/auction, including Bears and Cub tickets, restaurant certificates, oil changes, car washes, savings bonds, rounds of golf and party platters.
Buffalo Grove class has its own Web site
Buffalo Grove High School's Class of 1986 now has a permanent presence on the Internet at bghs1986.com. It includes a password-protected portal, my86, that will include posted profiles of graduates today. Alreadt, 80 Class of 1986-ers are registered for that option. Founder Mark Hawkins, a 1986 graduate himself, has been working on the site for about two years.
Day at races benefits Catholic Charities
The Race to Help 12 p.m. Saturday, June 14, at Arlington Park, offers a day at the races to help Catholic Charities' Emergency Services in northern Cook County. You can watch the day's races from the Governor's Room while enjoying a buffet lunch, open bar, and the knowledge that your donation will help provide food, shelter, and counseling services to those in need.
