Campton Hills police find stolen statues

Campton Hills police are trying to reunite a goose and two cherubs with their rightful owners.

Police Chief Greg Anderson said Tuesday that officers recently found four apparently stolen lawn statutes in Fox Mill subdivision's Lyric Park.

One of the lawn decorations, a concrete fox, was reported stolen May 31 and since has been returned to its owner, he said. Three others - a porcelain goose and two concrete cherubs - are as yet unclaimed.

"They're not too heavy; you can carry them," Anderson said, describing the cherubs as roughly a foot tall. "We think it was some kids pulling a prank. They weren't damaged."

Police solicited information on the statues through an e-mail to village residents Tuesday. To make a claim, call (630) 584-0330.
