Man admits to indecency at local libraries

A 26-year-old Evanston man received a three-year prison sentence Thursday after pleading guilty to public indecency.

The incidents took place earlier this year at Arlington Heights and Mount Prospect libraries, Assistant State's Attorney Mike Gerber said. Gregory Gentles, of the 1500 block of Darrow in Evanston, exposed himself to a female patron at the Mount Prospect Public Library on Feb. 5.

A month later, he did the same to a female patron at the Arlington Heights Public Library, Gerber said.

As part of the plea, Gentles, whose background includes multiple convictions for public indecency, will have to undergo substance abuse and sex offender counseling while in prison, Gerber said.
