Fox River Grove Memorial Library announces Wii tournament

The Fox River Grove Memorial Library, 407 Lincoln Ave., has announced upcoming programs and events. For information, visit www.frgml.lib.il.us or call (847) 639-2274.

Wii tournaments: The library has purchased a Wii system and is looking for people to help break it in. Wii Tournaments will be held from 1 to 3 p.m. Thursdays, June 18, July 16 and 30 These tournaments are open to players entering fifth through eighth grades.

Children's Program: The Fox River Grove Memorial Library and the Cary Area Public Library are teaming up to bring entertainer Michael Kett to the Cary library on Saturday, June 6. Kett's show "The Funny, Famous, & Fearsome Animals of Children's Literature" is all about bringing the animal characters of classic and popular children's books to life through audience participation, magic and storytelling. There will be two performances at 10:30 a.m. and 1 p.m. Seating is limited to 30 individuals for each of the performances. Fox River Grove Memorial Library cardholders can sign up at the Youth Services Ask Me Desk or by calling the library at (847) 639-2274.

Gymboree: The library continues its Gymboree Program at 10:30 a.m. Tuesdays, June 9, July 14, and Aug. 11 Gymboree's "play and learn" style classes encourage development through play. Using play-based activities, children will have the opportunity to strengthen their minds and bodies. This class is strictly limited to 20 people total, including both adults and children.

Storytime: The library's Summer Story Time will be held at 10:30 a.m. Wednesdays, June 17-July 22. All ages are welcome and registration is required.
