Control of river belongs here

I have lived on the Fox River since 1974 and have been on the Chain of Lakes since I was a kid; and here we go again just like last year, high water, waterway closed, now we have low water and I'm unable to get my boat off the shore station. I have watched small mouth bass spawn in a harbor and now with the water so low they are unable to stay on the bed. Needless to say, no hatch of eggs and this was nine beds that were destroyed.

Time to e-mail our governor and get the control of the waterway out of Springfield, which is more than 500 miles away and up to McHenry and Lake counties were we can see what is going on. This control should not be given to the Fox Waterway Agency at all. One would think with $21.2 million the governor has slated for state parks for improvement that some could go to the McHenry locks to keep them open seven days a week not just five. Again, e-mail the governor and your state representative and let them know what is happening to your waterway again.
