Naperville North 2, Lincoln-Way Central 1: Danny Sagen's two-out single in the bottom of the seventh drove in Idris Hanidu with the winning run for the No. 2 Huskies (25-7) in the Class 4A Naperville Central regional semifinals. Naperville North will play Naperville Central at 10 a.m. Saturday for the regional title.
Winning pitcher Jake Naumann improved to 9-2, allowing 6 hits while striking out three and walking two. Devon Moon's first-inning RBI single scored Sagen with the game's first run. Lincoln-Way Central tied it in the second inning.
Neuqua Valley 5, Romeoville 0: Winning pitcher Craig Provow (2-2) fired a 4-hitter with 8 strikeouts and no walks as the No. 5 Wildcats (24-11) advanced to an 11 a.m. Saturday game against fourth-seeded Plainfield North in the Class 4A Hinsdale South regional final. Mike Gerber blasted a 2-run homer and Alex Lincoln added a 2-run double for Neuqua Valley.
WW South 7, York 1: Robert Grabek (7-2) scattered 3 hits and struck out eight for the No. 7 Tigers (19-13) in their win over the 10th-seeded Dukes (19-14). WW South will face No. 2 Elk Grove in the Class 4A Hoffman Estates regional final at 11 a.m. Saturday.
