Northwest suburbs are not a piggy bank
It's about time that we who live in the Northwest suburban area inform the Cook County Democratic Party and their minions, in no uncertain terms, that we are not a special "piggy bank" for them. Rob Olmstead's recent article quoted some Democratic constituents as demanding that the General Assembly not roll back the 2008 County sales tax increase. If these individuals had to pay this onerous tax, they would certainly think twice about insisting that others pay up. It's even more insulting since these persons are part of tax-exempt organizations.
And, because of that, do they think that we in the Northwest suburbs have a specific obligation to provide unlimited funds for their pet projects?
And, it's more outrageous because the Democrat controlled House blocked this so the Northwest suburbs could continue to fund Stroger's "family and friends" hiring and spending practices and finance Chicago groups that have always had a never-ending hunger for more and more tax money from the Northwest suburbs.
Stroger again proved that recently with a veto and an upholding of his tax repeal veto.
If we are to see any relief from the tax and spend crowd in Chicago, Cook County, and Illinois, a.k.a. the Democratic Party, then a very simple solution to this situation Is crystal clear. In 2010, every Democrat In the Northwest suburbs must be voted out of office. They can protest all they want to but they're part and parcel of that same Democratic Party that has perpetually taxed more and more and then spent more and more.
And, It they are not voted out of office, then all I can do is remind voters that you always get what you vote for.
