Fremont board appointees:

Fremont Elementary District 79 in Mundelein has hired two new administrators, effective July 1. Rebecca Dahn accepted the position as principal at Fremont Intermediate School, and Stefan Ladenburger will be the assistant principal at Fremont Middle School. Dahn is currently the principal of John Stewart Elementary School in Maple Park, and she also has a strong background in special education. Ladenburger is currently the assistant principal at Charles Quentin Elementary School in Lake Zurich. Ladenburger will replace Darin Meyer, and Dahn will replace Patricia Reynolds, both of whom resigned to pursue other career opportunities.

Forest board to meet:

The Lake County Forest Preserve District board meets today to approve a budget for the 2010 fiscal year and discuss other business. The meeting is scheduled to begin at 9 a.m. at the county government center, 18 N. County St., Waukegan.

Rummage sale to benefit pets:

Save-A-Pet's Annual Rummage Sale is set for June 12, 9 a.m. to 4 p.m., and June 13 and 14 from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Browse through a large variety of items with all proceeds to benefit Save-A-Pet's dogs and cats. The sale takes place at the adoption center, 31664 N. Fairfield Road (between Route 60 and Route 120) in Grayslake. Wauconda Boat honors veterans

On Memorial Day, Wauconda Boat held a drawing to honor veterans by giving them a few hours of enjoyment and relaxation. The three winners will each receive a free four-hour pontoon boat rental on Bangs Lake and a $50 gift certificate to Docks restaurant, compliments of Docks and Sharp Auto. The winners will receive their prizes Saturday, May 30 at Wauconda Boat.
