Aurora rapist gets 10 years

An Aurora man was sentenced to 10 years in prison Friday for breaking into the home of a high school girl and raping her.

Cedric L. Bouchee, 19, was convicted of home invasion and criminal sexual assault in a March bench trial before Kane County Judge Timothy Q. Sheldon, who sentenced him Friday.

Prosecutors said Bouchee and co-defendant Mychal Postlewaite, 19, of the 1000 block of Cedar Avenue, were driving home from West Aurora High School on March, 7, 2007, when they began following a girl as she walked to her front door.

The men then forced their way into the girl's home and raped her, authorities said.

Bouchee was sentenced to six years for the home invasion charge and four years for the assault charge. He must serve at least half of the six-year sentence and 85 percent of the four-year sentence under Illinois statute. He was credited for 83 days served.

"We are satisfied with this sentence," Assistant State's Attorney Christine Bayer, who prosecuted the case with David Belshan, said in a news release. "It gives justice to the victim, who has experienced so much turmoil since this incident."

Postlewaite, who is free on a $12,500 bond, remains charged with two counts each of home invasion and criminal sexual assault, according to the state's attorney. His trial is scheduled for Aug. 3 before Sheldon.
