Israeli influence needs close look
If ever there was a country that should attend the U.N. conference on racism, it is the United States of America. Yet the administration is boycotting it, "with regret" due to the objections of the Israeli lobby in this country.
The words "with regret", tells me that President Obama would actually like us to attend this conference, but he doesn't dare to offend the Israeli lobby.
Who is this Israeli lobby, and why do they seem to have more power than the president of the United States?
We need the press to widely report on the inner workings of this lobby and make the American public aware of their influence on our government!
Perhaps the American public has other ideas about what our Mideast policies should be?
Just because there will be criticism of Isreal at this conference is no reason for the U.S. to boycott any conference that we have a vested interest in. If Isreal wants to boycott it, then fine. However, don't tell the United States of America where and who we can talk to!
