Strait coming to First Midwest Bank Amphitheatre

George Strait, who was recently recognized as country's Artist of the Decade, following in the footsteps of Marty Robbins, Loretta Lynn, Alabama and Garth Brooks, comes to the south-suburban First Midwest Bank Amphitheatre (still best known as the World Music Theater) this weekend. Los Straitjackets, the masked marauders of instrumental rock 'n' roll, come to FitzGerald's this weekend to open for Southern Culture on the Skids, who will be hard-pressed to match their intensity. It should make for a ripsnorting Memorial Day weekend double bill.

Memorial Day concert

The Cantigny Park and First Division Museum plays host to a Memorial Day concert by the First Division Military Band to mark the holiday. Admission is free, although parking fees apply.
