'Butterfly Princess' set to soar on stage May 16
It takes a huge effort to tell a tiny story. In May, an Aurora arts studio will bring together the work of dozens of Aurora-area artists and families, combining dance, photography, acting, and video into one large-scale production about bugs.
Presented by Shiloh Studio of the Visual and Performing Arts, "The Butterfly Princess, The King Lives" will be performed twice on May 16 at East Aurora High School.
Created entirely by Aurora-area artists, "The Butterfly Princess" features an original score and a cast and crew of over 150 local children and adults. The show takes the audience into the world of the Caterpillar Princess, a small bug who wants to understand her purpose in the big bug kingdom. Elaborate sets, costumes and integrated video and photography bring her adventures to life with an assortment of characters including flies, grasshoppers, and a villainous wasp.
The show will be performed at 3 and 6 p.m. Saturday, May 16. Tickets can be purchased at the door for $12. Admission is free for children 3 and younger seated on a lap. To order, call Shiloh Studio at (630) 978-0979 or e-mail Info@ShilohStudio.com.
