Teen drinking incident still under investigation

Mount Prospect police say they are still investigating an incident this week that resulted in a drunk, semiconscious teenage girl being taken to a hospital by paramedics.

Police spokesman Bill Roscop said while no arrests have been made, more details have emerged about what happened at the Mansions apartment complex west of Golf and Busse roads Wednesday night.

Roscop said a 16-year-old girl, a 20-year-old man, a 15-year-old boy and a 14-year-old boy began drinking vodka from a bottle outside the apartments. The friends then moved their drinking inside to a laundry room.

An apartment complex security guard called police about 8 p.m. after seeing the foursome go inside the laundry room.

"When we got there, (the girl) was semiconscious and vomiting," Roscop said.

Authorities said the girl was taken in an ambulance for treatment at Northwest Community Hospital in Arlington Heights. Her condition wasn't considered life-threatening.

In a separate incident Wednesday night that also remains under investigation, Mount Prospect police said a domestic dispute led to a stabbing in a parking lot at MP Fiesta Market in the 1900 block of South Elmhurst Road.

Roscop said Friday that a suspect in the stabbing was in custody, but charges had yet to be filed. He said police seized the suspect without incident at his Elk Grove Village home late Wednesday.

Police were called to the grocery at 9:09 p.m. Wednesday after a 20-year-old man was stabbed. The victim was taken to Alexian Brothers Medical Center in Elk Grove Village.

Authorities said there were witnesses to the stabbing. They said the suspect and victim know each other.
