Mayor's daughter is guest speaker for prayer breakfast
The National Day of Prayer was marked in Mount Prospect Thursday morning with the mayor's 10th annual prayer breakfast. The Rev. Join Wilks McElroy, the daughter of Alan and Mayor Irvana Wilks, was the primary speaker. McElroy is the pastor of First Christian Church (Disciples of Christ) in Charlotte, N.C., where she has been since July 2000.
The event was held at Bristol Court Banquets on Rand Road.
