Barrington offering help after student's death

Hospice of Northeastern Illinois will host a community forum for all residents of Barrington Area Unit District 220 from 7 to 9 p.m. today in the cafeteria of Barrington High School to discuss the effects of grief in adolescents.

The event was prompted by the apparent suicide of a Barrington High senior whose body was discovered Wednesday in rural LaSalle County. The student had been reported missing Tuesday.

District officials said tonight's program is not to discuss the specifics of this week's death, but to support families concerned about the well-being of their own children.

Final determination of the cause of death of the student, an 18-year-old from South Barrington, will not be made until toxicology results are received, according to the LaSalle County coroner's office.
