Moretti's Ristorante now open in Mount Prospect

Moretti's Ristorante and Pizzeria is now open at its newest location at 1799 S. Busse Road in Mount Prospect. The restaurant specializes in both thin crust and pan pizza and Italian specialties such as the "Mile High Lasagna." Youngsters can make their own pizza pies at their table with dough, cheese and pizza sauce. The restaurant is currently open for business beginning at 3 p.m. daily. By mid-May, hours will expand to an 11 a.m. opening time daily. Dine-in, delivery, curbside pickup and carryout services are available.

Beer and beef at Emmett's

Emmett's Ale House in West Dundee is hosting a "Brewmaster Dinner," with a beer reception and tour of its brewery. During dinner, hear from executive chef Rob Kwiatek who will discuss the various meal courses. Fare includes an appetizer of pan-seared halibut, a baby spinach salad with warm bacon dressing, an entree of herb roasted sirloin of beef and, for dessert, espresso creme brulee and a blueberry-Sambuca parfait.

Happy anniversary!

Retro Bistro celebrates its 18th anniversary throughout the month of May with special fare and drinks. Try the herb-roasted chicken on Tuesdays, or an apple martini on Wednesdays. Wine is just $15 per bottle on Friday evenings. Sundays feature braised short ribs. Kids eat free from Thursday, May 28, to Sunday, May 31.
