Schaumburg Flyers offer new look for Friday games
Every show needs a good costume change, and this season the Schaumburg Flyers will unveil a new black logo and jerseys that will be worn by Mike Busch's Flyers every Friday night in 2009.
"Players play better if they look and feel good. I love the black look, and I'm excited for the new image this season," said Busch, the team's new manager. "You never know, if we get hot and win a couple Friday's in a row, we might pull these out a little more often. I'm a superstitious guy and I'm all for whatever helps us win ballgames."
As they have for 11 seasons, the traditional logo and uniforms will still be featured.
In tandem with the new look, fans can take purchase a "Paint It Black" ticket package for Opening Week. The package includes a ticket for opening week, new logo T-shirt or sweatshirt and new logo cap for $39, a savings of up to $19.
The new logo concept is just one of many changes at Alexian Field this season, such as adding hot tub and tiki bar, as well as improvements to the kid zone and the Schaumburg Club.
"With all the new changes we were making at the ballpark, we thought it was vital to update our look as well. This is a perfect time to introduce this new concept," said Flyers general manager Ben Burke.
