Fans display their true colors

Lines, lines, everywhere were lines Tuesday night along the main concourse at the United Center less than an hour before game time.

One 20-deep to get autographs from former Blackhawks Jerry Korab and Dave Mackey, others to get a beer or get into the arena, and still another ringing the set of a television appearance by team president John McDonough.

And most of those in line were sporting either a white or red Blackhawks jersey with the names Sharp, Toews and Kane by far the most popular. But there were a couple of Espositos and even a Nichols thrown in for good measure.

The only Vancouver jersey spotted on the grounds was a "Sundin" worn by a young man just in from Winnipeg to visit his brother.

"It hasn't been too bad," his brother said of reactions at the UC, "just stuff like 'that's not a Blackhawks jersey.'"

Meanwhile, outside, a pair of Hawks fans were pulled aside to do a piece for a local TV channel.

Cameraman: "Can I get you to stand closer together?"

Fan No. 1: "Then we'll look like we're from Vancouver."

Interesting line.
